Brother Thomas C. Young

 -1977-

A master's job is never done, it lives on through the ages.

The annual Installation of Officer's was held on December 11, 1976 and Stan Young, son of the newly installed Master was the musical entertainment for the evening. After Installation light refreshments were enjoyed by all in the dining room.

On his first stated meeting Worshipful Master Young had 7 ballots to prove an applicant rejected. This is hard on any evening but especially hard on your first stated meeting as Master of the Lodge.

In April a "mountain oyster dinner" was enjoyed by the Lodge before the stated meeting. This was to go on and become what is now the Cowboy Dinner held every year in April right before the Clovis Rodeo. Also the city if Clovis was putting curbs and gutters on the south side of the Lodge property.

In June there was another Big Creek Degree by the Edison Company Degree Team and Carmin A. "Tony" Capilato received his third degree. There was also a third degree proficiency by Bro. Don Christenson. Bro. Capilato is now a Past Master and a very active member of Clovis Lodge.

In July it was once again time for the building to be painted on the outside. The building trustee's were given the go ahead to hire a licensed contractor to paint the building.

In December a fifty year pin was given to Everett L. Coyle PM and Bro. Terrill Glenn Past Master of Clovis Lodge, was asked to approach the east and was introduced as the only 33 degree Mason ever from Clovis Lodge. This was the case at the time but we now have several 33 degree Mason's in Clovis Lodge.

Brothers lost to death in this year were, Hayward C. McDonald, Albert D. McCallum, Andrew M. Randrup, Harold R. Beaver, Henry E. Bos, Myron A. Hinckley, Alvin Houston January Jr. PM, Clarence David Armstrong, James W. Beebe, William Robert Simpson and Merlin L. Ivie.
